    1 The Minister of Tourism and Recreation is responsible for the administration of this Act. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.9, s. 1.

  • 2Acquisition of land

    2 Land may be acquired under the Ministry of Infrastructure Act, 2011 for the purposes of this Act. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.9, s. 2; 2011, c. 9, Sched. 27, s. 28. Section Amendments with date in force (d/m/y) 2011, c. 9, Sched. 27, s. 28 - 06/06/2011

  • 3Designation of historical parks

    3 (1) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may set apart as a historical park any lands (whether or not covered with water) belonging to the Crown in right of Ontario in which there is an object, site or land of historical significance for the use by the people of Ontario in connection with the enjoyment of such historical object, site or land. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.9, s. 3. Same (2) In addition to any lands designated under subsection (1), the following lands are designated as a historical park: 1. The lands in the Geographic Townships of Flos and Sunnidale, Town of Wasaga Beach, County of Simcoe being composed of those parts of the geographic townships designated as all of Part 20 on a plan known as Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, filed on December 15, 1995 with the Office of the Surveyor General of Ontario in the Ministry of Natural Resources. 2025, c. 15, Sched. 18, s. 1.   • 4Application

    4 (1) Subject to any regulation made under subsection (2) of this section, subsection 12 (1), section 13, subsection 15 (1), paragraphs 2 to 5 of subsection 16 (1), subsection 16 (2), sections 23, 25, 28, 33 to 39, 43 and 45, clauses 46 (1) (a), (c), (d) and (g), subsections 46 (2) and (3) and section 54 of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 apply with necessary modifications to historical parks. 2006, c. 12, s. 61; 2025, c. 10, Sched. 10, s. 1 (1). Regulations (2) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may make regulations, (a) prescribing that a provision of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 applies to one or more historical parks; (b) clarifying the application of any provision of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006 to one or more historical parks; (c) exempting one or more historical parks from the application of any provi…

  • 5Fees

    5 (1) The Deputy Minister of Tourism may establish fees for entrance into a historical park, for licences and permits and for any services and facilities provided in relation to the park. 1997, c. 36, s. 1 (2); 2009, c. 33, Sched. 24, s. 1.   • 6Historical Parks Account

    6 (1) An account shall be established in the Public Accounts to be known as the Historical Parks Account in English and Compte des parcs historiques in French, in which shall be recorded the following amounts: 1. All Crown revenues related to historical parks. 2. All expenditures of public money incurred under subsection (2). 2025, c. 10, Sched. 10, s. 2. Authorized expenditures (2) Amounts not exceeding the balance in the account may be charged to the Historical Parks Account and paid out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the following purposes: 1. To fund expenses incurred by the Crown in connection with historical parks. 2. To fund refunds of all or part of an amount paid under this Act. 3. To make a payment under subsection 36 (2) of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006, as it applies to historical parks, in accordance with section 4. 4. To reimburse the Crown …
